Carpenter Ants
While carpenter ants aren't as harmful as termites, they still inflict harm on wooden structures. Their name is derived from their nest-building method, involving wood tunnelling to establish expansive colonies. Gradually, they may transition to dry, intact wood. These insects infiltrate human-made structures through tiny fissures, unsealed entry points, and even plumbing and electrical systems. Despite their name, carpenter ants primarily feed on plant and fruit juices, other arthropods, and honeydew, rather than wood.
